"Not too long ago, a small research team discovered a small, dormant Gree hypergate on the planet Malastare. I ordered several Imperial scientists familiar with Gree technology to try and reactivate the hypergate. The only members of the team with any relation to the order is Xindreles, a Sith Lord who works with Darth Tradere in studying ancient relics and technology. When the Gray Secant landed on Ilum, Tradere sent Xindreles to meet with the Gree representatives to learn from them. Perhaps the gate can be reactivated and used for the order's advantage."

"Progress with the hypergate has been slow at best. After nearly two weeks of examining the gate, the science team has barely found anything useful relating to it's activation. Not even Xindreles has any ideas as to how to restore its power. I've considered consulting higher ranked Imperial scientists, but doing so would only attract unwanted attention from other Sith looking for power. The only other people I know of that have knowledge of Gree technology are Spinosa, Falina, and Captain Dennenia. However, Spinosa is dead and I haven't heard from Falina for some time. I'm not entirely sure the Captain has more knowledge of Gree tech, but even if she did, she has been off the grid for months, ever since Kelshan was still hunting for those creatures. Hopefully Xindreles will figure something out and reactivate the gate."

Holographic recording of Lord Xindreles' field report.
"Progress with the hypergate has improved. The scientists understand some of the Gree's technology, but they do not know as much as we do. As they prattle on trying to reactivate its systems, we hear the true voice of the machine. Our prior experience with the Gree technologies as well as other Sith relics and apparitions has allowed us to hear voices from machines. We know such an idea is ridiculous, but it has helped us in research several times. The gate seems to be waiting for something to cross through a certain point from inside the space between the gates. We will continue our work and update you as needed."

File 081226- Priority Alert. Task Force Watcher ship #7, near Kathol Rift.
Priority one alert through all Task Force and Dark Watch channels. Planetary body detected within system, seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Republic Navy has responded to the anomaly three cruisers and ground teams were deployed to the ghost planet. We sliced their communications but we're getting nothing back from them only static. Under careful observation we have concluded that the planet is occupied and its inhabitants, hostile. Recommended course of action? Please advise.

File #081227-Audio log Task Force operative Sindiri, outside Kathol system.
"Engines and hyperdrive offline, we're drifting. We responded to the Kathol anomalies, we couldn't wait for Dark Watch approval, we had to move. *sigh* Might as well make this report now."
"The planet we encountered in the Kathol Rift appeared out of nowhere, our ground teams were deployed along with Kelshan, Kana and myself. We landed in a slaughter house, Imperial and Republic forces were already engaged with...something...I don't know what they were. Swarms and swarms of creatures bursting out of the ground slashing and biting at anyone near by. Took an hour but we managed to secure the landing zone. Kana noticed first, Imperial ad Republic weapons and armor were different, not like anything we know or could think of and they all wore the same insignia as if they part of the same group."
"Kelshan got tired of waiting, we needed an explaination. He found the ground commander, couldn't see his face though. He always wore a breathing mask, figured a needed it to survive. Anyway there we got the shock of our lives, the commander introduced himself as Callen Zadane, Director for Task Force Zero and Councilor for the Coalition of Independent Systems. He explained everything, Killiks...those things were Killiks and this was Kashyyyk or rather the Kashyyyk of their universe. It seems they detonated a Hypergate on Kashyyyk in order to destroy a hive on the planet, not the effect they had in mind....clearly."
"The Hypergate was still intact and Kelshan had an idea to go try again, problem was the Hypergate sank into the Killik's extensive hive catacombs. Didn't stop us though, took whatever we had left and went in. It was a nightmare they came out walls, the floor and the ceiiing. Casualties mounted to the unbearable when we reached our site, we set those charges as quickly as we could when we were attack again. It was different this time, the creature that attacked us was massive and it held a huge presence in the force. Callen called it a Killik Swarmlord, Kelshan engage first then Callen. The creature was skilled despite its size as if it fought force users all its life. It.....it broke his legs, Kelshan. We killed it but he couldn't move, Killiks were pouring in we had to get out but we had to leave him. It was even up for consideration for Kelshan he took the detonator, ordered us to go. Kana wouldn't leave, fought us so she could stay had to knock her out."
"Fought our way the ship, I couldn't even look back, only time I did was to watch the planet go up in flames then vanish."
"We left him. I left him."

(Emergency recording of final moments at Malastare hypergate site)
Four Imperial scientists stand near the hypergate as other scientists are at different portable lab stations around the area. Lord Xindreles stands in the middle of the site, focusing on the hypergate itself. For the past several hours, the hypergate has gained more power and seems close to activation.
The gate surges with power and begins to activate. The gate opens and a portal manifests itself between the three technological pillars. All eyes are now on the gate as the scientists near the gate take a couple steps back and Xindreles moves toward it.
In a near instant, lightning surges from the portal and strikes the four scientists closest to the gate. Everyone stares in shock and confusion as the bodies drop to the ground. Soon after, a figure walks out of the portal and stands there for a few seconds, analyzing the area and the people present. The figure then raises their hands to either side of them and fires lightning at the remaining scientists who soon drop to the ground.
Xindreles draws his lightsaber and charges at the assailant, but is swept aside as the figure moves their hand as if swatting away a fly. Xindreles crashed into one of the small portable lab stations and lies motionless. The figure raises its hand and lightning arcs from their fingertips to all the equipment at the site before raising a hand at the camera and crushes it, terminating the recording.
