Korigad emerged from the hypergate that led to her universe. She looks up at the sky of Ziost and ponders about the fight that is about to come. The Dark Watch of her reality will either soon be completely avenged or lose its sole surviving member. Two other robed figures then emerged from the gate and nodded at Korigad. The trio then headed to the nearest city to find a ship that will take them to Dromund Kaas.
As she makes her way through the stronghold of the Reborn Shadow Order, Korigad reminisces on the training she had gone through with her father from the universe she had stopped her conquest on. She wasn’t able to face the order’s triumvirate of leaders, even with the help of her original father’s best allies. But now, she feels confident she can take them on. The trio made their way to the throne room of the enormous fortress and Korigad opened the large metal doors.
As they walk forward, Rikor, Rathor, and Nyegrish notice them and remain seated in their respective thrones.
“Ah, Korigad Novan. It’s been some time since your last visit. You know, when you failed to kill us with those pathetic weaklings at your side.” Rathor commented, mocking the previous attempt to kill them.
The team Korigad had been with were the closest allies to Kagrido. When news broke out about the three Sith claiming leadership of the Dark Watch and twisted it for their own purposes, Korigad and the others had tried to drive them off, to no avail. Korigad had been the only survivor of that fight.
“I must admit, you do seem a bit stronger since you disappeared. But it doesn’t matter against one of us, let alone three.” Nyegrish replied.
Korigad took a step forward, looking the three Sith in the eye before responding.
“I’ve seen places far beyond your comprehension. My power has multiplied a hundred fold since that day. And even if one of me isn’t enough for you…”
The two robed figured pulled down their hoods, both of them sharing the same face as Korigad.
“Then how about three?”
As she programmed Callen’s hypergate, Korigad had visited the other realities before successfully creating a link to her original universe. In doing so, she found two other versions of herself and had asked them to aid her in the fight. They weren’t as powerful as she was, but they should be capable of holding off two of them while she fought the other.
One of them had long, braided hair and was trained more in lightsaber combat. The other was bald and slightly taller, this one was trained primarily on Force techniques. These two also bore the same white eyes the Novans bear, signifying their level of power in the Force.
Rikor finally spoke “Good trick. It seems you have gotten stronger, but it isn’t enough against us. However, you display potential. Come rule with us and we’ll spare you.”
Korigad felt the rage inside her swell as he gave his offer. She remembered everyone who had died from the attack as well as everyone who had been killed by a corrupted Svia. If she hadn’t killed everyone, these three wouldn’t have been able to step in to steal the order.
Korigad took her lightsaber from her belt and ignited the blade, aiming the weapon right toward Rikor. The other two Korigads drew their own sabers and entered their respective battle stances.
“In the name of the true Dark Watch, the Reborn Shadow Order will fall this day.”
Rikor scoffed at the woman “So be it.”
The three Sith rose from their thrones and activated their own lightsabers. A few seconds later, everyone charged toward the middle of the giant room. As Rikor was charging toward Korigad, the ponytail version managed to rush ahead and intercept him, unleashing a flurry of blade strikes as Rikor defended each strike. This left Nyegrish to Korigad while the bald version to deal with Rathor, the sound and flashes of force lightning were noticeable even from their separated distance.
Nyegrish unleashed a powerful force blast as Korigad charged toward him. She rolled to the side to avoid it and used the Force to leap at him with her lightsaber raised above her head for a downward strike to his neck. He was able to bring his lightsaber up to block it in time.
“Do you honestly think you can stop us? We are the strongest this galaxy has ever seen. The Dark Council fears us. What possesses you to think you have any chance at all?” Nyegrish proclaims, taunting Korigad as they struggle to keep their lightsabers crossed.
“Perhaps you’re the strongest in this galaxy. But there are other universes with Sith and even Jedi stronger than any of us. I’ve killed them to prove my strength, and now you will see the result of it all!”
Korigad brings her left hand away from her lightsaber and uses the Force to push Nyegrish away several meters. When he recovers, he unleashes a volley of force lightning toward her, and she brings her lightsaber up to absorb the bolts. She slowly walks forward, keeping her stance in case the energy were to knock her off-balance. Korigad then began to step up the pace and swing her lightsaber to return the captured lightning back at its originator.
Nyegrish brings up his own lightsaber to block the lightning but Korigad takes the advantage and charges at him while the lightning was still being sent toward him. She brings her lightsaber up from a diagonal swing to Nyegrish’s exposed left side but he manages to block it, to Korigad’s prediction. After her lightsaber connects, she continues the onslaught with a flurry of lightsaber strikes as Nyegrish is working to keep up and block them. As Nyegrish sees an opening, he lunges forward with his lightsaber, but Korigad steps back and swings her blade and cuts off his hand. As her opponent’s weapon and right hand falls to the floor, she leaps over behind him and runs her lightsaber through his shoulder blades.
As Nyegrish falls dead to the floor, Korigad notices the other duels in nearby. The ponytail version of her was evading Rikor’s powerful lightsaber strikes while countering with quick ones of her own, for now it was a stalemate but it wouldn’t last. The bald version was fighting Rathor, both of them launching force lightning at each other and attempting to overpower the other, though it looked as though Rathor was winning. Korigad ran toward Rathor in an attempt to distract him to give her alternate the upper hand.
As Korigad threw her lightsaber toward Rathor, he stopped it in midflight and sent it toward the bald Korigad. The other her was able to jump out of the way of the blade and evade the lightning, Rathor had used the Force to break a large statue over to crush her. The bald Korigad manages to keep the statue from falling on her, but Rathor unleashes another volley of force lightning. As Korigad reclaimed her weapon and charge toward Rathor, the bald version of her had lost control of the Force and the statue crushed her.
Rathor looks at Korigad and smirks “Are you going to be as easy to kill as she was? If so, just make it easier for yourself and die now.”
Seeing the death of her other self only increased her rage, reminding her of how Zarron Kedaii had been crushed by a shuttle in a similar manner.
“I was going to say the same to you about Nyegrish. Hard to believe the Dark Council fears you when a nobody like me doesn’t.” Korigad taunts Rathor.
Rathor raised one arm and shot lightning at Korigad, who proceeded to leap over the attack and land behind Rathor. Korigad brought her weapon up for a horizontal slash, but an unseen barrier stopped the blade from reaching its mark. She unleashed a series of fast paced slashes but all were stopped by the barrier Rathor had made around him. When he saw an opening, he knocked her away with the Force and she landed next to the crushed body of the bald copy of herself. But where was the statue?
Korigad looked up and noticed the statue was in the air above her, Rathor had lifted it back up when she was knocked away.
“Too easy.” Rathor said as he released the statue.
The stone statue fell on top of Korigad and Rathor begins to walk away to observe Rikor’s fight. After taking a couple steps, an invisible force pushed him into the nearby wall.
“That trick won’t work twice.” A voice called to Rathor.
Rathor looked ahead of him to see Korigad with her hand out, keeping him pinned to the wall.
“How…how did you escape? There wasn’t enough time to react once you saw the statue falling!”
“I picked up a new trick in my travels, something a different version of my father had taught me. It’s called Fold Space, like it?” Korigad answers.
Rathor breaks the connection and drops to the floor in a sprint, using the Force to augment his speed. As he runs, he fires lightning toward Korigad, who absorbs the lightning with an open hand. After completely absorbing the attack, she begins her sprint toward Rathor. They intercept each other, lightsaber locked as they met. Rathor overpowers Korigad and pushes her back a few steps.
“Even if you did learn such a power, it won’t save you now.” Rathor sneered, his eyes red with rage.
Korigad stops moving backward and smirks, turning the tables and pushing Rathor to walk backward instead. She brings her left hand up in a feint attack, then uses the Force to knock his lightsaber out of his hand while striking the side of his head with the hilt of her lightsaber. As he recoils back, she grabs him by the throat and looks him in the eye.
“You should be able to give me enough energy to recover what I lost.”
Korigad siphons Rathor’s energy as he struggles to break free of her grip. After gaining the energy needed, she throws Rathor behind her and uses Fold Space on him. Rathor teleports to the top of the room right above her, falling with the momentum he was thrown with. Korigad takes her lightsaber in two hands and jumps into the air with the Force augmenting speed and power. She uses her blade to cut Rathor in half as they converge in midair. Korigad lands on the floor below shortly after the two halves of Rathor’s body did and began to move toward Rikor.
The remaining proxy of Korigad unleashed a series of blade strikes on Rikor, who was successfully blocking each attack. When he found an opening, he reached for her throat and took hold of an amulet around her throat, crushing it in his fist. The other Korigad was struggling to remove the amulet around her neck while fending off Rikor, but to no avail. After a few seconds pass, Rikor jumps away from her and the amulet unleashes a powerful dark energy that kills the second Korigad and her lifeless body falls to the floor.
Korigad and Rikor walked to the center of the room, leaving a few meters of space in between them.
“You have grown stronger than I anticipated. Your abilities as a warrior will serve you better if you ruled with me. We will crush the Republic and purge our broken Empire into a stronger one. Join me, and we will rule everything in existence!” Rikor asks as he holds out a hand to Korigad.
Korigad looks at the hand and begins to offer hers in acceptance, only to send lightning from her gauntlet toward him. Rikor was quick enough to bring his hand up to divert the attack to the side. The two began another lightsaber duel, the room shaking each time their blades crossed. The fight seemed to go on for an eternity as the lightning flashed through the large glass wall overlooking the rest of the city.
“You couldn’t defeat me four years ago and you can’t beat me now. You only grew strong enough to kill Nyegrish and Rathor, but no one, let alone you, can kill me!” Rikor roared as their sabers locked once again.
“You stole this order after the others were killed by Svia, you wouldn’t have been able to take the Dark Watch for your own had the others survived. You talk of power when all you’ve done was allow another to kill the right people for you to steal it. I’ve avenged the deaths of my father and the others when I killed Svia, I’ll avenge the Dark Watch itself when I kill you here!” Korigad yelled.
The two broke away from the lock and Rikor used Force lightning to blast to knock Korigad into the glass wall, shattering it to pieces and overloading her Gree armor’s power. Korigad fell to the floor a short distance away from the edge, slightly dazed from the impact. As she tried to get to her feet, an invisible hand grabbed her throat and lifted her off the ground. Rikor began to walk toward her.
“See? Your strength doesn’t come close to mine. You threw yourself into the open arms of death the moment you set foot in this fortress. You’re the last of your order and you’ve failed to avenge it. Pathetic.” Rikor said, looking Korigad in the eye.
He used the Force to move Korigad over the shattered glass. Though she was starting to black out from oxygen loss, she knew she was hanging over the city below. If she hadn’t used too much energy, she could use Fold Space as she was falling and survive the fight. Korigad looks back at Rikor, not allowing herself to look away from her killer as she felt the invisible hand release its grip around her neck. She prepared herself for the end.
Then suddenly Rikor had been enveloped in lightning, screaming as it coursed through his body. It took Korigad a second to realize even though he had released her, she was still floating in place. She is suddenly yanked back into the building and lands on the floor several meters away from Rikor. She then looks up and notices two Sith Purebloods, a male who was sending the lightning to attack Rikor and a female who is facing her and et her hands down to her side, the one who saved Korigad from falling to her death. Both looked a bit younger than herself. Korigad stands back up and looks at Rikor, who fell to a knee from the attack.
Korigad held her hand up to signal the male Pureblood to stop his attack and walked toward Rikor, who looked over his shoulder to look at her.
“’Pathetic’.” Korigad quoted Rikor.
Before he could reply, Korigad used the Force to push Rikor out the open window and down to the city below.
Korigad turned to the two Purebloods. Though she had never met them in person, she knew exactly who they were: Adenas and Mielian, the children of Inig Darkborne. During Svia’s vendetta against the order, Inig asked Stryks to protect the two when they were infants, they survived the massacre. However, when Rikor and the others returned, they killed Stryks and captured them. Rumors were spread that they had killed them once their rule was secured. If they had been rumors, Korigad would have been killed by now.
“White eyes? Wasn’t there someone in the old order with eyes like that?” Adenas asked his sister.
“One of mother’s councilors. This must be his daughter.” Mielian answered.
“How did you know I was in danger?” Korigad asked the two.
“We sensed Nyegrish and Rathor’s presences fade away. We broke out of our cells and came here as quick as we could. We didn’t know what was happening until we saw you outside the window.” Mielian answered.
Korigad looked out the window, fully realizing what had been accomplished. She felt herself losing her balance and steadily sat on the ground.
As Adenas and Mielian began to talk to themselves, Korigad was lost in the thought over the members of the old order. Seventeen years ago, Svia had killed her father. During the next thirteen years, she would kill most of the members of the Dark Watch and was finally stopped by Korigad. A year later, Rikor had claimed the order and made it his own, and a failed attack against him was made. The past three years Korigad had traveled to different universes, challenging the strongest combatants they had to offer. And now, she had finally brought an end to it all.
“Hey, Novan.” Adenas called out.
Korigad snapped back to reality and looked at the two.
“What are we going to do now?” Mielian asked.
Korigad stood up and looked at the three thrones at the end of the enormous room. The Reborn Shadow Order needs to be torn down completely so it may be reborn to what it was before. The damage the order had taken over the years will take time to repair. With the records from the previous generation hidden away in the stronghold, they would reform the order to its previous glory.
The Reborn Dark Watch will take its place back in the galaxy.
